Salaam A’laykum Wa Rahmatu lahi Wa barakatu
I would like to draw your attention to some little error we make that we actually think it’s normal. When someone does something good to us we always want to show appreciation right? I know I’ll have 100% yes on this one. To the best of my knowledge I believe only Allah alone deserves thanks and we all also know that, but why then do we say thank you to someone knowing fully well Allah made it happen as He has decreed.
I know you all must be wondering what my point is, I’m trying to say thank no one but Allah. If you want to appreciate someone’s effort, you say Jazaaka’Allahu Khaiyraa…
Let me shed light into another error we make by saying words like jazakallah. Jaza means reward and we all know reward could be good or bad.. When we say jazakallah it means may Allah reward you, you’d notice this statement is not complete because it may mean may Allah reward you with evil or may Allah reward you with goodness.
According to a Sahih hadith, when a person is in the grave his bad deeds come in form of a man, he would have a bad odour and the dead person would say who are you? And the man would say I’m your bad deeds. Then the deeds will tell him jazakallah sharran meaning may Allah reward you with evil.
My point here is, the word Jazaka’Allah is an uncompleted statement waiting for either Khayran (goodness) or sharran (evil).
According to a sheikh (may Allah be pleased with him) he said when you see a brother or sister and you want to appreciate their effort you must add Khayraa to Jazakaa’Allah. MUST”
